Never assume: measure before you speak

The tower's first rule is also science's first rule: you do not believe, you verify. An unmeasured number is an invented number. An untested promise is a risky promise. It is the experimental method applied to daily work. Every claim must be checkable. What cannot be checked is marked as unchecked.

Keep records: nothing is lost

Science advances because results are published. One researcher can read what another did instead of redoing it. The tower applies the same idea.
